Your complete wellness matters

Relieve stress and find calm

Are you experiencing extreme stress and job burnout? You're not alone. We provide suggestions for wellness services that are designed to help educators like you find ways to relieve stress and rediscover calm in your lives. Let us help you on your journey to well-being.  We define different types of wellness services and can recommend specific places and locations in your area to find these services

A few of our favorite wellness& self-care services are found at our local multi-purpose spas.  Halo-Therapy (Himalayan Sea Salt rooms/caves): help with respiratory issues such as allergies and asthma by clearing the airways.  It is also good for any skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis due to the salt's antibacterial properties and its ability to reduce inflammation in the body to provide clearer and healthier skin.  Halo-therapy also helps relieve stress, improve sleep, and boost the immune system.

Float Therapy is done in a floatation tank filled with 300 ml of Epsom salt and water heated to the outer skin temperature.  The high concentration of Epsom salt allows the body to float on the back without the head being fully submerged.  **My first time, I became so relaxed, that I fell * Float Therapy has many benefits such as: Relaxation, stress relief, migraine relief, detoxifies the body, relief of muscle tension and mental anxiety.

Infrared Sauna Therapy is an advanced form of heat therapy.  It uses infrared light to penetrate the skin, activate heat shock proteins and elevate the body's core temperature to promote a deep and cleansing sweat.  An Infrared Sauna is different from a conventional sauna in that an infrared sauna directly warms the body which provides a more tolerable experience.  Traditional saunas heat the air which often make it too hot to handle.  Infrared Sauna Therapy enhances circulation, relieves muscle soreness, helps to relax and relieve stress, and supports recovery which is needed for workout enthusiasts and athletes.

Restorative Yoga allows us to focus our minds as it is geared toward helping us find a way to be more present in each moment.  It slows everything down so that we can sit within our body comfortably without judgement yet with a heightened sense of awareness.  In a restorative yoga practice, you will move slowly from one pose to the next by doing fewer poses and holding each pose for 5 to 10 minutes at a time.  This provides a deeper stretch, allows the mind to settle and slow down as you sink into your body and place your focus on your breath.  In other words, restorative yoga gives us the ability to consciously relax without discomfort or strain in each pose but instead letting the body be still.

Yoga Nidra is otherwise known as Yoga Sleep and we at Empowered Educators Educating Mindfully believe that it is described best in an article written by the DailyOm 6/1/2023 Paige Jarvie Brettingen; " Yoga Nidra is the answer to burnout, stress, anxiety, and our body's need for rest.  Just 45 minutes will take you to a blissful state of relaxation and allow you to feel as though you've had hours of deep sleep." (Brettingen, 2023) We recommend finding a class near you!   It often takes time for our over stressed minds and body's to be still; however, we recommend giving Yoga Nidra a try for a minimum of 5 to 10 sessions in order to teach your mind body how to let go and relax.
